This is not really a porridge but the closest Indian dish I can think of, to come in the porridge category. This dish is usually eaten in Eastern India, specially during some festivals where it goes by the name of Ghola Prasad. With milk and nuts, this can be a complete meal in itself and is really filling if you have it for breakfast. Also, the browned whole wheat flour in milk imparts a really nice, earthy aroma which is very appetizing. A perfect alternative to a traditional porridge, I must say. Do give this a try if you are getting bored with the packaged cereals or the traditional cooked wheat or oat porridges.
