I don't know why we call this dish 'bangers and mash'. Perhaps it's to make it sound more exciting than it is as a 'banger' is really just a sausage.  It's a much loved british dish - for good reason, I might add - as it's a lovely bowl of comfort food.  This recipe was interesting
