Honey Maple Chicken and Donuts
Easy Biscuit Donuts with a Maple Glaze topped with Chicken Tenders and honey! It's a filling breakfast!

Looking for an unusual dessert that's fit to be a meal? Check out these Honey Maple Chicken Strips and Donuts! It was totally my lunch and I don't regret one single bite! I loved everything about this perfectly scrumptious lunch!

Enjoy an easy Maple Glazed Doughnut with a chicken strip and honey on top! I've died and gone to heaven!
The dounts were quick and easy to make using canned biscuits and I added a Tyson's Crispy Chicken Strip for some added protein to my diet. It totally makes this a balanced lunch.

I've got some carbs, some natural sugars, milk, and chicken.

Sounds pretty balanced to me.

Don't you agree?

Wait, what?

I'm missing fruits and veggies? Nah, I'm good. I had them in my breakfast smoothie this morning before yoga.

See, all balanced.

And yes, I said yoga. I started going to yoga last week and I'm back for a second week. So far, so good. I've been stretched like a rubber band and I'm going back for more. Fingers crossed that this routine sticks. Ever since my 39th birthday, my flexibility has gone down dramatically. Touching my toes with my knees straight is a bit more of a challenge these days.

I think I would do much better with some donuts just out of reach while streching...

Ooey Gooey Honey dripping off a chicken strip on top of a maple glazed doughnut. Yep, I know what my next meal is!

What motivates you to work out? I'd love to hear it.

Do you work out to balance your sugar tooth? To keep you active with your kids? To help you keep feeling young?

Ingredients
  • 1 refrigerator Biscuits, canned
  • 3 C vegetable oil
  • 1 C powdered sugar
  • 1/4 C milk
  • 1 - 2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • Tysons Crispy Chicken Strips
  • Honey
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400℉ and prepare 8 chicken strips on a bake sheet. Bake chicken strips according to the instructions.

Meanwhile, preheat the oil in a medium sized pot. The oil is ready when it sizzles when water is splashed on it, approximately 350℉.

Open the canned biscuit and cut a hole in the center with a small cutter or just making a hole with your fingers and pulling it open.

Cook 1 - 2 donuts at a time depending on the size of your pot. Fry for 30 seconds then flip over and cook for another 30 seconds.

Remove with a slotted spatchula and transfer to a cooling rack with a paper towel underneath. Fry up all the biscuits and holes.

In a bowl mix together the powdered sugar, milk, and maple syrup. Stir it smooth and microwave for 10 seconds. Stir again checking the consistency and then heat again for another 10 seconds.

Dip the donut tops into the maple sugar and glaze just one side. Return to the drying rack to dip.

When the chicken is done, top with the fresh chicken strip and drizzle on some honey.

Enjoy it with an apple for a balanced meal!
