Flatbread, chapati or also known as roti, is the most basic Indian flatbread and the most commonly prepared in every Indian household. You can make the dough the day before in the night before rolling out the dough the next day. If you are in the hurry, just prepare the dough but leave it to rest for at least 15- 30 minutes. Of course here too the rule applies the longer you leave it to rest the better. You can make this chapati with ghee also without any ghee into a plain chapati! Just leave out any of the ghee rolling/folding parts and don't add ghee to the frying of the chapati bread. You can half the recipe too just to make about 4 chapatis. Usually, people have 2-3 chapatis on average with a meal.
