This recipe came out of our local free paper years ago. Unfortunately I am unable to credit the original author as I have misplaced the paper clipping, but very grateful I typed it up on my computer. A HUGE THANK YOU to the unknown author , as this has become a Thanksgiving family favorite. The past couple of years I have actually made this and put it in a crock pot for gatherings that do not have access to an oven. It has worked good, I just add the marshmallows on top about a half hour before serving. That way the marshmallows get a chance to melt and you can still have the marshmallow sweetness. Of course there may be a chance there are leftovers. I tend to really enjoy the toasted marshmallow topping so I sometimes add more and bake it in the oven to get the toasted goodness. You can also mash the leftovers for another meal the following day. Hope you get to enjoy this with your family and friends.
