Pika
Food plays a huge role in the Caribbean culture. It truly brings people together. Most meals are served with rice, pinto (rice and beans), or funchi (a type of cornmeal similar to polenta). Pika, made with onions and chilies, is a standard addition on the table in Curacao, with diners adding as much as they desire during the meal. Make up a batch, and store it in a glass jar in the fridge to add a little Caribbean heat to your next meal!
