A refreshing smoothie in the summer. Look for cantaloupes that have an even golden color--not much green--in the outer skin. A perfectly ripe cantaloupe smells gently sweet. It should feel heavy in your hands and give just a bit on the blossom end (this is opposite the end that had the stem).
