It was my boss from about 15 years ago who told me about tri-tip and how delicious it was. He'd tell me how he would grill it to medium rare, and slice it thin. It was a cut of beef that I couldn't find here, so I figured that it was a West Coast thing. Come to find out, that cut of beef was typically ground into sirloin burgers in this area. Now, because it has become wildly popular, you can pretty much find this cut of steak anywhere!
